Earlier this month, Samsung released a software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It offered Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1, which brought many new features to the phone. Even though the update came out this month, it had last month’s security patch (August 2024 security patch) instead of this month’s (September 2024 security patch). Well, Samsung is fixing that.
Samsung has started rolling out a software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It offers the September 2024 security patch, which fixes 67 security vulnerabilities, making your device safer against attacks. At the moment, the South Korean tech giant is rolling out the new firmware to the international and US-unlocked variants of the smartphones, which have model numbers SM-F946B and SM-F946U1 respectively.

You can recognize the new software update with firmware version F946BXXS3DXI3. Samsung smartphones and tablets periodically keep checking for updates automatically. So, when the brand makes the new firmware available for your device, it will notify you about the update. If it hasn’t already, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the update from our database and install it manually using Odin.
