More evidence for the boxier design is now available through images of what is said to be a Galaxy Z Fold 6 dummy unit. The square corners make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 look more different than the Fold 5 than you would expect, and in our opinion, it's a step in the right direction and gives the design an industrial feel similar to Samsung's Galaxy S Ultra and Galaxy Note smartphones.
Also a step in the right direction is the increase in the cover display width. It's a modest increase that may not be enough for everyone, but it should strike a good balance for most users.
Those who want a bigger change will want to look forward to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, though it is possible that those two models will have see considerably limited availability (the Ultra may even be Korea-only).
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim may also launch a few weeks or months after the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. Rumors say the Slim model is slated for a launch sometime in the last three months of 2024, but Samsung could offer a teaser at its Unpacked event in Paris next month.
