Stable Galaxy Z Fold 6 One UI 7 update rolling out now!

Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 7.0 (Android 15) update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in select countries.

The day all Galaxy Z Fold 6 users have been waiting is finally here. After a long wait, Samsung has finally released the stable One UI 7.0 (Android 15) update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The update is rolling out now in South Korea for all Galaxy Z Fold 6 (and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition) users.

It could be released to users in other countries in the next few hours or days.

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 15-based stable One UI 7.0 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The update comes with firmware version ending F956NKSU2BYCK and has a download size of over 5.2GB. Besides a major UI redesign, newer and smoother animations and transitions, and new features, the update also brings the April 2025 security patch.

Some countries might get the update later than others. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 was launched with Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 out of the box, and Samsung promised to offer seven major Android OS updates to the phone. One UI 7.0 is its first major update, and it will get six more Android OS updates in the future.

What's new with the One UI 7.0 update?

One UI 7.0 brings a new design for notifications and the Quick Panel. They now appear on two separate pages. You can customize where quick setting toggles and other elements appear in the new Quick Panel page. The Quick Panel now also includes the volume slider.

The notifications are bigger and have a pill-shaped design with bigger icons and a stacked structure. Samsung has also refreshed the design of all stock apps and their app icons (which are now more colorful).

Samsung has also introduced a new styling for widgets, featuring more rounded corners. There are multiple new widgets for the stock apps. They have more customization options, including shape, background, and transparency. You can add or remove app and widget labels on the home screen. The home screen now has a better design for the landscape mode.

The multitasking UI (Task Switcher) has also improved, and now features a three-dimensional look for the app cards and a new animation. You can enlarge folders on the home screen to launch apps without opening the folder first. There are more lock screen widgets and lock screen clock widget customizations (including clock font thickness).

There is a new UI element called the Now Bar. It displays the most relevant information based on time and your usual schedule. It can display sports scores, media playback controls, stopwatch, timer, Google Maps navigation, workout tracking progress on Samsung Health, among other things. It appears inside a pill-shaped UI element on the status bar and on the bottom of the screen on the lock screen.

One UI 7.0 also brings a major redesign for the stock Camera app. All controls are now easily accessible from the bottom of the screen, making the phone more usable with one hand. Samsung has also brought smoother and more fun animations and transitions througout One UI 7.0. There are new charging animations on the status bar and the lock screen. There are more battery health protection options as well.

Galaxy AI has also received new and improved features. Writing Assist allows you to improve the grammar, change the tone, and format or summarize text. You can also transcribe recorded voice calls on your phone.

Modes selection menu has improved. Routines can now be more powerful, thanks to the addition of If-Else conditions. There are more options and conditions for Routines.

You can group your alarms and set the same volume level for them. You can drag and drop events from one date to another or one calendar account to another in the stock Calendar app. You also get more options for reminders, repeat completed reminders, and automatically delete completed reminders in the stock Reminders app.

Quick Share and security have also received improvements with One UI 7.0. Quick Share can now continue to send files even when the other device is out of the range of a direct Wi-Fi connection. There are improvements to security and battery health protection.
