One of the major complaints we have about Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold smartphones is that they don't offer exciting camera specs for their asking price. For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has camera hardware similar to the base Galaxy S24 while costing almost twice as much and only stands out because of the under-display camera embedded in the foldable display.
Samsung continues to keep the best camera hardware exclusive to Galaxy S Ultra smartphones, but according to a new rumor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could get the same 200MP camera as the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Oddly, the source also claims that Samsung decided to equip the Fold 6 with the S24 Ultra's 200MP camera “instead of decreasing the battery capacity.” Nothing we have heard until now suggests that Samsung was thinking of reducing the battery capacity, so we are a little skeptical about believing the latest tidbit from the rumor mill.
Considering the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still around six months away from going official, we may hear more doubtful rumors about the device before things start to make sense and we get a more accurate idea of what is in store for fans of Samsung's foldables.
One thing is for certain, though: Samsung won't make too many major changes to the formula, as foldables are already quite expensive. In fact, we won't be surprised if Samsung focuses on the software side of things with Galaxy AI on flagships it launches in the future while keeping hardware upgrades to a minimum.
