A Korean retailer appears to have revealed the pre-order and release dates for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Older rumors had it that the phone would go on sale in Korea on September 25, but as we all know, that didn't come to pass. However, here's when the phone will supposedly become available for pre-order in Korea, at least according to this source.
Korean retailer T-store has put up a banner for the “Galaxy Fold6 Special Edition.” Odd name, but from what we can tell, this phone could be available for pre-order in Korea on October 18. The pre-order period will supposedly end on October 24, and the device will be delivered starting on October 25.
However, since the source appears to be a third-party retailer, and given the unusual name they're using for the phone, it wouldn't hurt to take these dates with a pinch of salt.
Unfortunately, it's possible that this is not the Special Edition foldable phone we've all been waiting for but a regular Galaxy Z Fold 6 labeled “Special Edition” for other unknown reasons. Samsung India already did something similar for its Enterprise Galaxy Z Fold 6, calling it “Special Edition” and adding to the confusion.
For what it's worth, the phone rendered above looks like the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 rather than the Special Edition model, but it could be a placeholder image.
Then again, a leaked photo suggests there won't be a huge difference between the standard and Special Edition Z Fold 6, and without seeing the alleged redesigned camera housing in the render shown by T-store, it's hard to confirm if this is the real deal or a placeholder. We're leaning toward the latter.
All things considered, the takeaway is that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition might go on sale in Korea on October 25, but until we see some confirmation from Samsung or harder evidence from other sources, we will take this with a pinch of salt. Time will tell, and we'll keep you posted once we find out more.
