Samsung is gearing up for its next big launch event of the year, and what better way to build hype than with a few pre-launch teasers?
The company has released a series of playful videos that, even if they appear to have been created with the help of AI, are in good taste and quite clever. They're a far cry from some of the sloppy AI content Samsung has posted on social media in recent months/years.
In any case, these new clips are short, punchy, and actually creative. They focus on everyday objects — mostly food — transforming into a triangular shape.
What's the significance? It's pretty big, actually. Samsung's teasers point to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, which, despite the name, isn't a direct successor to the Fold 7 but a new spin-off on the Fold formula.
The Fold 8's big revolution is the wider, shorter aspect ratio. And Samsung's videos are all about drawing attention to that new form factor. Each clip is also paired with a fitting tagline, including:
These teasers would probably seem random to anyone unfamiliar with Samsung's foldable roadmap and the latest rumors. But if you've been following the Galaxy Z Fold 8 story, you'll see the connection. It's hidden in plain sight, yet obvious to anyone who knows the background.
Check out Samsung's latest Unpacked teaser videos below and through the company's social media channels.
And if you don't think you'll like the wider form factor of the new device, it's not the only one. At Unpacked, Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The latter is the actual direct sequel to the Fold 7, renamed.
This campaign is only just getting started.
