Galaxy Z Fold 8/8 Ultra doubled Samsung's foldable sales in Europe in nine weeks

Samsung took a risk expanding the mainline Galaxy Z lineup with a third model this year, and it seems to be paying off. Today, Samsung announced that Galaxy Z foldable phone sales in Europe have increased significantly since last year.

The company says sales were driven by “exceptional demand” for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The numbers speak for themselves:

Incidentally, the second week of September is when Apple announced its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo.

Although Samsung didn't mention its rival in today's announcement, it's impossible not to link the iPhone Duo's launch to the surge in online traffic related to the Fold 8 in Europe.

That trend might continue, especially now that Apple had to push back iPhone Duo shipment dates to the end of January due to a mismanaged launch. The iPhone Duo has raised awareness, and Samsung now has an opportunity to cash in on it. It knows it, too.
