Every feature that makes Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra feel more 'Ultra'

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is Samsung's first Ultra-branded foldable smartphone. While Samsung brought major design and camera upgrades with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra takes things to the next level. The company has made the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra feel even more Ultra.

Here are the features that make the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra more deserving of the Ultra name.

The cover display and inner foldable display can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, surpassing even the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The inner screen also features an anti-reflective coating that reduces reflections by up to 50%. The crease is also substantially less visible.

These improvements make the screens easier to see outdoors and help make the device worthy of the Ultra tag.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra gets the Galaxy S26 Ultra's 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, improving detail and sharpness. It also adds macro photography capability.

Moreover, the 200MP primary camera can capture full-resolution 200MP still images with HDR image processing, improving colors and dynamic range. The ultrawide camera can also record 8K 30fps videos. Together, these improvements make the phone more deserving of the Ultra name.

Unlike some other foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra uses the full version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, similar to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

To be specific, it uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, which features faster clock speeds for the GPU and the Prime CPU cores compared to the standard version of the chip.

The Fold 8 Ultra also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with a 5,000mAh battery, matching the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is a 13.64% jump in battery capacity over the previous six Galaxy Z Fold models.

The phone features 45W fast wired charging, which was previously reserved for devices such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra also supports 20W fast wireless charging.

With these features and capabilities, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra feels like it deserves the Ultra tag, even if it doesn't get all of the fancy features found on the Galaxy S Ultra lineup.
