The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 were the first Samsung phones to receive the January 2024 update a week ago. If you thought the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 would be left behind by their predecessors, you should not worry. The latest foldable models are now catching up.

Samsung is rolling out the January 2024 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Europe. The updates can be identified by firmware versions F946BXXS1BWL7 and F731BXXS1BWL7.

The January 2024 update weighs a little under 400MB and includes this month's security patch but not much else, as confirmed by the firmware numbers.

Thankfully, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 already run the latest One UI 6.0 version, so they're leading the charge in terms of software features.

As for the January 2024 security patch, the official changelog mentions fixes for more than 80 security flaws. Google alone brings 75 vulnerability fixes.

The latest update is available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (SM-F946B) and Z Flip 5 (SM-F731B) in Europe. If you want to install it manually using a PC, you can download the official firmware files from our website. You can also open the Settings app on your foldable phone, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install.”
