Second batch of Galaxy Z Fold SE sold out in Korea

The second batch of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition went on sale in South Korea yesterday. On its website, the second batch was sold out within five minutes. That is twice as fast as the first batch, and that is impressive! The units sold through South Korea's network carriers (KT, LG Uplus, and SKT) were also sold out.

Samsung has announced that all the prepared stock has been sold out and will notify customers when additional stock is available. This shows that people in South Korea are impressed with the phone and are ready to splurge over KRW 2,789,600 (~$2,024) for it.

What's so special about the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition?

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold SE two weeks ago. It is a slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 but still comes with bigger screens, a better camera, and the same battery capacity.

It has a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio and an 8-inch foldable inner screen with an almost square aspect ratio. Both screens have up to 2,600 nits peak brightness.

The phone has a 200MP primary camera with OIS, similar to the one on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It has a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen.

On the inside, the phone has a 4MP selfie camera below the foldable screen. It can record 4K 60fps videos using all its cameras and 8K 30fps videos using the primary camera.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB internal storage. It runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software and will get seven major Android OS updates. It also has several Galaxy AI features.

It is powered by a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W fast wired charging and 15W fast wireless charging. It also supports 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

It has stereo speakers, an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Connectivity features include GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
