In a blog post, Google says that it has started rolling out an update to the Gmail app for Android that offers three new features on tablets and foldable devices.
Formatting bar
First, it provides a bar at the bottom of the compose screen that contains all the formatting options, including the ones to change font and make bulleted lists.
Keyboard shortcuts list
Second, now when you connect an external keyboard to your Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Fold, open Gmail, go to the compose screen, and press the ‘?’ button on it, the app will show you a list of helpful keyboard shortcuts.
Gmail now offers Smart Compose on tablets and foldable devices
Third, Gmail now offers Smart Compose on tablets and foldable devices, a feature that suggests text as your type. You can swipe across the grayed-out text or hit the tab button on the external keyboard to accept the suggestion.
With all these features, the compose screen of Gmail for Android on tablets and foldable devices looks similar to that on the web, offering a uniform look across all large screen devices.
