Using Google apps is getting much more accessible for users with disabilities, as Google has added many new accessibility features to its products. Google Assistant, Google Chrome, Google Maps, and other Google apps are picking up new accessibility features that will make people's lives easier.
Google Maps gets a screen reader for the live view accessibility feature. With the incorporated screen reader, Live View becomes more useful and will read what's on the screen, making it easier for people with impaired vision to use Google Maps. The feature is currently rolling out for iOS but will make its way to Android later this year.

That's not all; Google Maps also makes finding wheelchair-accessible routes easier. After the data is available to Google, iOS and Android users can ask Google Maps to show them wheelchair-accessible routes and get to their destination safely and soundly. Moreover, Google has introduced new iconography for businesses and locations in Android Auto and Android Automotive. These icons will inform the user if the place is wheelchair-friendly or not.
Assistant routines get a whole set of customization options. You can choose how the routine is presented, upload your image, change the size of the shortcut, and use other style attributes, making it easier for specially-abled people to use. For Chrome, Google is adding an autocorrect URL feature that will take you where you actually want to go. The feature is going live for Android and iOS apps.
Pixel phones from Pixel 5 onwards get the Magnifier accessibility app that will let users zoom in on the content they are viewing. Besides this, the Guided Frame feature is getting better as it gets audio, haptic feedback, and high-contrast visual cues when taking a selfie. This will help visually impaired people to get the best selfie. Previously, it worked only on the front camera and on people, but now Google has expanded the feature to make it work on pets, food, documents, and the rear camera as well.
