However, Gemini lacks many features that Assistant has. One of them is the capability to set an alarm or a timer on its own. If you ask Gemini to do that, it will use Assistant to perform those actions. Well, that's not the case anymore.

According to Andriod Authority, the latest beta version of the Google app for Android features the Clock Tool extension for Gemini, which allows it to set alarms and timers on its own, without depending on Assistant to perform those actions.
With the latest feature, Gemini is one step closer to replacing Assistant. However, there’s a long way to go with it yet to support many features, such as the ability to handle smart home devices. Expect the Clock Tool to arrive in the stable Google app soon.
