Yesterday, Google unveiled the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel Watch 3, and the Pixel Buds Pro 2. During the announcement, the company also announced some improvements to its new AI-powered digital assistant, Gemini. Those improvements will also be released to eligible Galaxy smartphones, including the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Galaxy phones to get improved Google Gemini soon

Google announced that Gemini is now available in 45 languages and in more than 200 countries worldwide. It has also received improvements for foldable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which allows you to open Gemini into a multi-window and split-screen view while multitasking. This improvement will likely come to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or newer Galaxy Z Fold series phones. On Galaxy smartphones and tablets, you can swipe up from the corner of the screen to activate Gemini.

Google also announced Gemini Live, which is rolling out to Gemini Advanced (paid plan) subscribers. It lets you have free-flow conversations. For example, you can interrupt Gemini while it is talking to dive deeper into the current topic or come back to it later. Moreover, since Gemini Live works hands-free, you can keep talking while Gemini Live keeps running in the background or even when your phone is locked. Gemini Live is also getting ten new voices; you can choose the one you prefer.

Soon, Google promised to release new extensions for Gemini. Those include Google Keep, Google Tasks, and Utilities. It will also improve YouTube Music search performance. With the Google Calendar extension, you can take a photo of a concert flier and ask Gemini if you are free that day. You can even ask it to remind you to buy tickets for that concert.

The company said it will continue to offer deeper Gemini integrations with Google Home, Phone, and Messages apps. The Circle to Search feature will also get a new feature, which you can use to circle something on your phone's or tablet's screen and instantly share with others.

The story continues after the video.

If you have already replaced Google Assistant with Gemini on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet, you can activate Gemini by saying the ‘Hey, Google' hot word. You can also ask it about things on your phone's screen or about the video you are watching on the YouTube app.

Gemini also features Generative AI-powered image generation (powered by Imagen 3), and you can drag and drop those images into Gmail and Google Messages. In the coming months, Google said it will continue to improve Gemini's accuracy and speed.
