Google has added a total of 18 new starters and actions for the Household Routines features on the Google Home app. The new update that improves the Google Home app's automation capabilities is starting to roll out today for all users. Besides, users do not need to be enrolled in the Preview Program.

As per the official Google community blog, users will be able to use 9 Starters and 9 Actions within the Google Home app. Notably, you will be able to turn off the thermostat when the window is open, turn on the fireplace and dim the lights when you pause the TV show, turn on the humidifier when the humidity drops below 40%, and more.

The new Google Home Starters and Actions support are limited by the device manufacturer

Moreover, as far as the 9 new Actions you can now perform on Google Home, you will be able to dock the vacuum cleaner at a specific time, open/close windows, doors, or blinds at specific times, pause/unpause devices when the doorbell rings, control the lighting effects, and much more. The Timer action seems to provide more granular control for the user. Now you can cancel a timer if you need to leave the house or set a timer for 30 minutes to cook dinner.

Of course, the above are just a few examples of what you can do with the new Google Home Starters and Actions. For a complete list of Starters and Actions, you can check out the blog post. You can access the new starters and actions from the Automation tab on the Google Home app.

Google has mentioned that the ‘device capability support is limited by the device manufacturer.' So, we would advise you to check the official device compatibility list before trying out the new Google Home starters and actions. If you do not see your device, then your device's manufacturer hasn't implemented the features.
