Google Keep is become a better app for big screens. Over the past few months, it received the option to show two notes from two accounts side by side and more text formatting options. Now, it is getting even more flexible with the ability to resize the note pane on big-screen devices.

Google Keep gets a resizeable notes pane on foldable phones and tablets

The newest version (v5.24) of the Google Keep app for Android allows you to resize the notes pane on the screen's right side. This feature is available on big-screen Android devices like book-style foldable phones and tablets. However, it is a server-side update, so you may be running the new version of the app but still not see the new feature.

This improvement was spotted by Mishaal Rahman, and has already been spotted on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the OnePlus Pad Go. Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Z Fold devices might have received the same feature. By default, the notes list and the notes pane are split in a 50:50 ratio, but the new feature allows you to expand the notes pane.

The new functionality allows you to split the notes list pane and the notes pane in a 75:25 or 25:75 split screen ratio. As you can see in the video above, you can change the size of the notes pane by dragging the handle on the center of the screen. You can also turn off the split screen by pulling the handle to the end.

As promised with Android 12L, Google has been improving its stock apps to behave and work better on devices with big screens. Over the past few years, it has optimized Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Keep, and other apps for foldable phones and tablets. Thanks to these optimizations, we are seeing an improvement in the Android tablet space.
