At the Google I/O 2022 event last night, Google announced various products, including the Pixel 6A, Pixel Buds Pro, Pixel Tablet, and even the Pixel 7 series. Yes, the search giant showcased the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro months ahead of the launch, taking the hype train into its own hands. These upcoming phones will compete with the Galaxy S22 series.
The Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro improve upon the Pixel 6's design with an aluminum camera bar that gives us the Galaxy S21 feel. Both phones will feature the next-generation Google Tensor processor, high-refresh-rate OLED displays, a premium build, and Android 13. Previous rumors had pointed towards the Tensor 2 (codename GS201) chipset featuring Samsung's Exynos 5300 5G modem.
The Pixel 7 is the smaller of the two and features a dual-camera setup at the rear. The Pixel 7 Pro is a bigger device with a larger display. It has a triple-camera setup on the back, featuring a primary, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto cameras. Both phones have an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, an IP68 rating, and wireless charging.
The Pixel 7 will be available in three attractive colors: Lemongrass, Obsidian, and Snow. The Pixel7 Pro will come in three colors—Hazel, Obsidian, and Snow—as well. Both smartphones from Google are expected to be launched sometime in October 2022, and that's when we will get to know more information about them, including detailed specifications and pricing.
