There's good news if you have been on the waitlist to enjoy Android games on your Windows PC (officially). Yes, Google Play Games PC Beta is now available in more than 60 new regions after the previous expansion. These regions include Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. With this latest expansion, Google Play Games PC Beta is now available in 121 regions across the globe.
In May 2023, the Play Games PC Beta was available only in 56 countries. Google wants to extend its gaming ecosystem beyond smartphones to Android TVs, tablets, Chromebooks, and laptops. Regarding content availability, Google touts that multiple games are available, including Cookie Run: Kingdom, Eversoul, Summoners War, Homescapes, Evony: The King's Return, Call of Dragons, and Arknights. One of the newest additions is the Free Fire MAX.
However, it is currently available to users in Malaysia and Taiwan, and it is expected to be launched in more regions in the coming weeks. Google has also detailed that Play Games PC Beta is accessible by “hundreds of millions of additional PC users” thanks to the latest expansion to more regions. So, if you have a Galaxy Book laptop, you can officially play Android games on it.
Moreover, Google Play Games PC Beta can run on hardware with 4GB of RAM and a dual-core processor. But speaking of the recommended processor, it is still 8GB of RAM and a quad-core or higher processor. The lower-end devices will have limited experience.
Apart from the expansion to more countries, Google has also added the ability to remap the keyboard. With the keyboard remapping feature, users can customize their controls and match them as per their gameplay preferences. There is a catch, though: the keyboard remapping feature is only available on select games on compatible devices.
