After making it available in the US in May this year, Google is expanding the availability of Search Generative Experience (SGE) to India and Japan. Apart from launching the Search Generative Experience (SGE) in India and Japan, Google also shared early user research that shows that SGE is most liked by youth.
Similar to the US, Google SGE will be available in India via Search Labs opt-in. The Google SGE supports English and Hindi languages with a language toggle to quickly switch between the two. Moreover, Google is also offering voice input and verbal responses. The Search Generative Experience (SGE) is also making its way to Japan, with ads appearing in both countries. You can access this feature on your Galaxy smartphone and tablet via Google Search.
Google Search Generative Experience saw the highest rate of satisfaction among young users
Google has said that the feature will make its way to more countries in the future. A chevron icon opens a carousel of ‘relevant web pages.' Notably, the feature will be live in India and Japan in the coming weeks. Also, according to Google's research, SGE, or Search Generative Experiences, achieved the highest satisfaction scores from young users (18-24 years old). Young users were happy and enjoyed being asked follow-up questions.
This group is essential for features like SGE because it creates exciting research and new opportunities for Google to be helpful by asking queries. Google also noted that people have a positive attitude towards SGE as they can quickly scroll and access a broad range of sources on the internet.
Generative AI answers will have arrows next to them indicating drop-down menus, which, when clicked, will show you the sources or websites from where it grabbed the information.
