Google upgrades Google Wallet with new features and expands its availability

Google has made five new announcements about Google Wallet and upgraded the digital wallet’s app for Wear OS with support for three new features. Let's take a look at the announcements and features.

Google Wallet app for Android now available in 9 more countries

Google has announced that it has launched the Google Wallet app for Android in nine more countries: Cambodia, El Salvador, Guernsey, Kosovo, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, and Tajikistan.

Google Wallet web is now available in 28 more regions

In April this year, Google launched the web version of Google Wallet, which allowed people to access the digital wallet from a web browser. Initially, the company made it available only in the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Then the brand expanded it to 13 more regions. Now, the tech giant has launched the web version of the Google Wallet in 28 more countries.

Google Wallet can now show train tickets from Gmail emails

Up until now, if you received emails about loyalty cards, movie tickets, and boarding passes in Gmail, Google Wallet  fetched and showed them. Google has announced that Google Wallet will now also show train tickets that you will get in Gmail, making it easier to access those tickets.

Google Wallet app for Wear OS gets grouped passes, archiving, and unscannable passes support

Google has announced that it is upgrading the Google Wallet app for Wear OS with support for grouped passes, archiving, and unscannable passes.

According to Google “Grouped passes will appear together” and “when a group of passes is selected, each pass will be shown on a carousel.” Coming to support for archiving, you will now have an option to archive a pass right from your wrist. Lastly, the Google Wallet app for Wear OS can now also show unscannable passes.
