Samsung's fine with keeping us guessing about when the One UI 7.0 beta program will begin but that's not stopping leaks from trickling in. We've already seen many leaked screenshots detailing the new user interface changes. Some One UI 7.0 apps are also available for download now.
Another leak has now emerged via @tarunvats33 which gives us a good idea of how the company is reinventing the Lock Screen with its upcoming major software upgrade. There are new customization options that users who love to personalize their phones will appreciate.
One UI 7.0 reimagines what a lock screen can be
You can see new pill-shaped widgets on the lock screen that display the weather and the battery status of connected devices like a Galaxy Watch. There may presumably be other widgets as well. Previous leaks have revealed a Live Activities UI component whereby these widgets update dynamically based on the task being performed.
There are additional customization options for the clock on the lock screen. It's all done up in the new design language that Samsung is introducing with One UI 7.0. This shows that it will be possible to personalize the clock with different colors, font styles, and the ability to alter the size.
Samsung did mention during SDC 2024 last month that One UI 7.0 is being rebuilt from the ground up and you can see the significant change in the design language compared to existing iterations of One UI. Leaked details about the new animations, and the customizable quick panel also attest to that.
It's unclear when Samsung is planning on launching the One UI 7.0 beta program. A rumored roadmap suggests that the first beta build may be released as early as next week with the stable verison being released around February next year.
