Integrating Galaxy S24 AI tools into your Samsung Notes workflow

Tips & Tricks

One of the several new AI-based upgrades the Galaxy S24 series has is the ability to summarize and auto-format text. This tool works great for Samsung Notes, regardless of whether or not your Galaxy S24 model has an S Pen.

As the wording suggests, the summarize and auto-format tools do exactly what it says on the tin. Using the summarize tool, you can leverage the AI to generate a shorter summary of an existing document. Likewise, the auto-format tool uses AI to organize the text contained in a note using chapters, bullet points, and more.

Using Samsung Notes AI features

These new AI-powered tools for Samsung Notes are easy to access. All you need to summarize a text is to tap the AI icon in the toolbar and tap “OK” at the “Note smarter, not harder” pop-up. This pop-up appears the first time you use the AI tool.

Next, select the desired portion of text and tap “Summarize” in the small pop-up menu.

Once the AI summary is done, you have the option to copy it to your clipboard, replacing the old text with the summarized one, or adding the summary to a “New page before” the existing text or to a “New note.”

The auto-format tool works in a similar way. You can tap the AI button in the toolbar, select the text, tap “Auto-format” and choose “Headers and bullets” or “Meeting notes.” Once the AI completes the auto-format, you can choose between several format types, and once again, “Copy,” “Replace,” or “Add to.”

For now, these AI-powered features are available for Samsung Notes exclusively in One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S24 series. They may or may not become available to older Samsung phones through a future firmware update.

The Galaxy S24 pre-order window has closed, and you can now buy the flagship outright from Samsung's online shop and partner retailers.
