At CES 2024, Intel announced the 14th Gen Core HX lineup of processors for high-end gaming and workstation laptops, the Core Series 1 lineup of processors for thin and light laptops, and new models in the existing 14th Gen Core lineup of processors for desktops.

14th Gen Intel Core HX mobile processors

There are five models in the 14th Gen Core HX lineup: i9-14900HX, i7-14700HX, i7-14650HX, i5-14500HX, and i5-14450HX. The new series is a refreshed version of the 13th Gen Raptor Lake lineup, which means that all the new SKUs have the Raptor Cove performance cores and Gracemont efficient cores like the previous models, albeit with improved clock frequencies. You also get some new features, including Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth v5.4. All models have 55W Base Power and 157W Turbo Power.

Coming to the Core Series 1, it has three models: Core 7 150U, Core 5 120U, and Core 3 100U. Considering that these SKUs have the same naming convention as the Core Ultra Series 1, you might think that they have the new Meteor Lake architecture. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The new models are based on the 13th Gen Raptor Lake laptop processors. They, however, have improved clock speeds along with support for Wi-Fi 7. All SKUs have a 15W Base Power and 55W Turbo Power.

Once again, these processors are based on the Raptor Lake architecture with improved clock speed and W-Fi 7, and some models featuring extra E-cores and greater L3 cache. These models have 35W to 65W TDP.

Availability, pricing, and future products

Intel hasn’t announced the availability details and prices of the new models. Expect it to reveal those details in the next few weeks. At CES 2024, Intel also showcased the Lunar Lake processors for thin and light laptops that are scheduled to arrive later this year.
