Apart from one of the best smartphones in the market, Samsung also makes some of the very capable camera sensors for mobile phones in the industry, such as the ISOCELL HP2, which has won the hearts of many for its image quality with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Apart from using these sensors in its devices, Samsung also offers these cameras to other brands, and there’s a long list of devices using the ISOCELL sensors, which includes the Pixel 7 Pro. Well, today, another phone is getting added to that list, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro to feature Samsung ISOCELL GN5 camera sensor
Earlier this month, iQOO announced that it would launch the iQOO Neo 7 Pro in India on July 4, 2023, which will also be the phone’s global debut. Since then, the company has been teasing the key features of the smartphone one by one. Today, iQOO has revealed that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will be equipped with the Samsung ISOCELL GN5 camera sensor with OIS as its primary camera. The Korean tech giant launched this camera sensor in September 2021, and we’ve already seen it on the iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro, and Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro.
Samsung ISOCELL GN5 features
The ISOCELL GN5 has a sensor size of 1/1.57 inches and a resolution of 50MP. It has pixel binning capability to produce 12.5MP final images. It comes with Dual Pixel Pro autofocus technology for ultra-fast autofocus. It also packs Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI) which helps in absorbing as much light as possible and reducing crosstalk for lower noise. The sensor is capable of recording 8K videos at 30 frames per second and 4K videos at 120 frames per second, which is quite impressive for a mid-range camera sensor.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro specifications
iQOO has also revealed other specifications of the iQOO Neo 7 Pro, which includes a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 5,000mAh battery, and 120W fast charging. According to various reports, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will be a rebadged variant of the iQOO Neo 7 Racing, and going by the specs revealed by the company, those reports seem to be true. In India, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro could launch around INR 35,000 (around $426) and go up against the likes of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G.
