The Galaxy A50 didn't make the cut when Samsung was designing its new OS upgrade policy, which promises three major Android updates to many of its mid-range phones and all of its flagship devices launched post-2019. But the company continues to release new security updates for the Galaxy A50 pretty regularly, and another one has just arrived.
The December security update is now rolling out for the Galaxy A50. It seems to have been released a little less than a week ago, and it should now be making its way to a few markets, include Taiwan, New Zealand, and the Philippines. It sports firmware version A505GNDXS9CUK3 and should be appearing in more countries in the coming weeks.
As expected, the new update brings nothing but security enhancements to the Galaxy A50. Expect that to be the case for as long as the Galaxy A50 is getting updates, barring any critical updates that are released with non-security improvements when the need arises.
To download the December update over the air, open your Galaxy A50's Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. To manually upgrade using a Windows PC, download the latest firmware from our archive and get flashing, though not before taking a backup of all your important data.
