As good a mid-range phone as the Galaxy A55 can be, some unlucky users aren't happy that the fingerprint sensor hasn't been working as intended for a ling time. This problem affects only some Galaxy A55 users, adding to the mystery, but regardless, those affected have experienced fingerprint reader issues for months.
The problem, aside from the fingerprint reader issues, was that the Galaxy A55 didn't receive updates on schedule. The reasons are unknown, but there were speculations that the seamless update feature — which remains exclusive to the Galaxy A55 — may have been the cause.
Galaxy A55 fingerprint issues might be gone for good
Samsung finally started rolling out new updates for the Galaxy A55, and the latest one came out only a couple of weeks ago. The Galaxy A55 was Samsung's first phone to receive the July 2024 update at the beginning of the month.
And since this July 2024 security patch rolled out, many Galaxy A55 users (via GalaxyClub) said the fingerprint sensor issues are finally gone. Others say the problem was addressed gradually through a combination of recent updates, but regardless, it's all good news for Galaxy A55 users.
