We exclusively confirmed several months ago that Samsung will launch a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro this year. The company is shaking things up for its smartwatch lineup in 2022. The Pro model brings some of the most significant changes for the Galaxy Watch series so far.
There have already been a few leaks concerning the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The latest brings us a load of specs. Evidently, Samsung has created a truly monster smartwatch that's going to dwarf its competition.
Galaxy Watch 5 Pro leaked specs bring valuable insights
According to this leak, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will feature a titanium body and it's only going to be available in the 45mm size. So if you like large watches, this is the one you should be getting. It comes with a 1.36-inch AMOLED display with a 450 x 450 pixel resolution.
The cover display is made out of sapphire glass. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro apparently has a very chunky battery of 590mAh, giving a runtime of up to 80 hours. That's a significant improvement over earlier models.
The Samsung Exynos W920 chipset powers the smartwatch. The entire Galaxy Watch 5 series uses the W920. This is the same chip that powers the outgoing generation of Samsung smartwatches. Depending on the configuration, there's going to be up to 16GB of internal memory available. The LTE variants of the device will have support for eSIM as well.
There's also some heft to the device as it measures 10.5mm thick and weighs a substantial 46.5 grams, nearly double what the standard Galaxy Watch 5 model weighs. Pricing for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro starts at 469. We already knew it was going to be expensive, Samsung is apparently raising prices across the board for its upcoming devices.
The company is yet to confirm when the new Galaxy Watch 5 models will arrive. Considering the pace of the leaks now, it may be sooner rather than later.
