Earlier today, Samsung revealed what's fixed with the October 2023 security update. Now, the company has released this new security update to its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5, in the US. The update is available to the carrier-locked versions of the phones.
The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 bears firmware version F731USQS1AWI3 in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold 5's carrier-locked version gets the same update with firmware version F946USQS1AWI3. If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 5 or Galaxy Z Fold 5 on Verizon's network, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. For other carrier networks, you may have to wait for a few days more. Samsung might release the update globally within the next few days.
