LockStar is a beloved Good Lock module that enabled a new dimension of customization for the lock screen. One would have expected that the module would keep its functionality even as Samsung moved up to One UI 7, but that's not the case.
Samsung has confirmed that it has removed the ability to customize lock screen notifications with LockStar in One UI 7. So even though the module will remain available through Good Lock on devices running the latest version, it will lose out on one of its core features.
LockStar loses one of its most crucial features in One UI 7
Samsung already allows for a lot of lock screen customization. Users can switch between different widget placements, clock styles, color combinations, and more. LockStar took things a step further. Users could customization notifications by adjusting size, color, transparency, and more for the incoming notifications. This allowed them to create a truly unique and personalized lock screen experience.
A community manager has confirmed on Samsung's official forums that LockStar custom notifications aren't supported in One UI 7. The door has been kept open, though, as they say customer responses will continue to be monitored, and they may be considered to bring back support for the feature at some point down the line.
Perhaps if more people express their displeasure with the move, then Samsung might reconsider its decision and bring back LockStar custom notifications. Until then, it might be best to get your fill of the feature on an earlier version of One UI, because once One UI 7 starts rolling out on April 7, you're going to be out of luck.
