In April, we learned that Samsung is developing a new Galaxy A series smartphone, the Galaxy A08. Going by the name, it should arrive as a successor to the Galaxy A07 and be one of the brand’s most affordable smartphones. However, since then, there has been no news about the device. That’s changing today.
On Samsung’s server for OTA updates for Galaxy phones, a firmware for the brand’s upcoming Galaxy A08, carrying version A085FXXU0AZF7, has been spotted (via Mohammed Khatri). It suggests that the brand has started testing firmware for the phone. Considering that, it looks like the company may launch it soon.
Unfortunately, there’s still no information about the features or specifications of the Galaxy A08. Considering that it will be an entry-level phone, we don’t expect the device to offer significant upgrades over its predecessor.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A07 in August 2025 and follows a yearly refresh cycle. Keeping that and the latest development in mind, it looks like the company will launch the Galaxy A08 next month (August 2026).
