Samsung introduced a major improvement to its smartphone and tablet experience with the launch of One UI in 2018, and the company has continued to refine it every year since. However, One UI now needs a radical change to keep up with the rest of the industry, and Samsung could deliver exactly that in 2027.
Tipster Ice Universe, who has a solid track record regarding Samsung products, claims that One UI 10 will bring “significant changes, unprecedented in nature” next year. This major overhaul is expected to start with the Galaxy Z Flip 9 and Galaxy Z Fold 9 series. The upcoming software will likely be based on Android 18 and could debut in mid-2027.
There have also been rumors about Samsung renaming its interface to Galaxy OS while working closely with Google and other partners for deeper AI integration. Although it remains unclear if the company will actually rebrand the software, Samsung is highly likely to introduce even more thoughtful Galaxy AI features.
One UI remains one of the most feature-rich and customizable Android skins available today, especially when combined with Samsung's Good Lock suite. Still, it undeniably needs a major design revamp, along with smoother animations and fluid transitions, to look and feel truly futuristic.
