Samsung has released a new security update for the Galaxy S23 FE. This is similar to the update that was rolled out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra a few days back, but it's coming a little late as Fan Edition models usually get updates on a separate schedule because they don't launch alongside the non-FE models.
The Galaxy S23 FE update has made its debut on some carrier-locked models in the USA, but unlocked variants shouldn't be left behind for too long. S23 FE owners get the same changes with the latest update as S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra owners: enhanced security thanks to the March 2024 security patch.
Samsung fans had hoped that the first update for their smartphone in March would bring One UI 6.1, but that isn't the case, though we are hoping the company will manage to release One UI 6.1 for some eligible devices before the end of the month.
The latest Galaxy S23 FE update is accompanied by the firmware version S711USQS2BXBF. It can be downloaded over the air from the phone's Settings » Software update menu by tapping the Download and install button. The device can also be upgraded to the latest software using the firmware files available in the SamMobile archive, though this process requires the use of a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
