Last week, Samsung released a new software update to the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in Korea. It brought the March 2024 security patch and a new health-related feature to the two smartwatches. Now, the company is rolling out the same software update to the Galaxy Watch 4 series in India. With the latest software update, the firmware version of the Galaxy Watch 4 should change to R860XXU1HXB7 and that of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic should change to R870XXU1HXB7.
The March 2024 security patch fixes 45 security issues. As for the health-related feature the update brings, Samsung says that now when you connect your Galaxy Watch 4 to a compatible Samsung TV or monitor, you will be able to see workout data from your smartwatch on the big screen while you are working out, which will save you from looking at the wearable every time you want to check the data, give you a better overview of the workout, and help you do your exercises in a better way.
Samsung has rolled out the same security update and health-related feature to the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Watch 6 series smartwatches. While we are on the topic of updates, it is worth mentioning that Google is rolling out a new feature to Google Maps for Wear OS that will show you public transit options to a location right on your wrist.
