Samsung's first Wear OS 3 smartwatches, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, have become pretty popular. They have excellent displays, good fitness and workout tracking, decent battery life, and plenty of features. With an upcoming software update, the two smartwatches will get even more features.

The South Korean firm will release a major new update to the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic on February 10. The new update will motivate users to complete their fitness goals. Once users set their body composition targets such as weight, body fat, and skeletal muscle, the smartwatches will offer daily reminders and tips on achieving those targets.

Cyclists and runners can get interval training. They can set their target, the ideal interval between their workouts, and even recovery time. The Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will also measure and display the percentage of VO2 Max in real-time, which will help users in knowing how hard they can push themselves. After a run, the smartwatches will report moisture loss and offer information on how much water to drink to recover that moisture.

With the new update, the Galaxy Watch 4 will continue to measure a user's heart rate for up to two minutes after the workout, so users can know when they can resume their training.

The new Sleep Coaching feature will help users achieve better sleep through recommended sleep time, sleep quality data, and a complete sleep score. After month-long tracking, the smartwatches will also assign a Sleep Symbol animal to every user that best represents how they sleep. The watches will also control SmartThings-connected TVs and lights to help users sleep better.

The upcoming software update will also bring new watch faces and add customization options to existing ones. Samsung will also release more watch straps to match the new watch faces. Sport bands will be available in Burgundy, Cream, Grey, and Purple. Fabric bands will be available in Black, Blue, Grey, and Red versions. The Link Bracelet metal strap will be available in Dark Grey and Olive color variants.

Samsung's new smartwatches are also getting enhanced support for the left hand so that users can wear them on any wrist without any issues. During the initial setup process, the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will automatically install apps based on which apps are installed on your smartphone.
