Microsoft has announced that it is rolling out Build 23615 of Windows 11 Insider Preview in Dev Channel. The new update brings three main features and the most important of them is the support for USB4 Version 2.0 (also known as USB 80Gbps), which is a new standard for USB Type-C that offers 80Gbps data transfer speeds.

Curently, Intel 14th Gen HX mobile processors offer this connectivity option, and it is enabled on a few laptops including the Razer Blade 18. However, despite those laptops having this feature, people couldn’t use it because Windows 11 doesn’t support it. Now, Microsoft is addressing that issue with the new update. So, if you have a laptop with a USB4 Version 2.0 port and you install Build 23615 of Windows 11 Insider Preview from Dev Channel, you will be able to enjoy 80Gbps bandwidth on your device.

Copilot now opens automatically

As for the other two features that Microsoft is offering with the latest update, the first one is where Copilot will open automatically when you power on your device. According to the company, this feature will be available on devices that have a “minimum diagonal screen size of 27” and pixel width of 1920 pixels and limited to primary display screens in multi-monitor scenarios.

New sharing options in the share window

The second feature is if Microsoft Edge or other web browsers invoke the share window, it will show you the option to share the link of the website that you are browsing on Facebook, Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and X (formerly Twitter). Apart from that, Microsoft has fixed several bugs and made some changes to widgets. You can check out the full changelog here.
