Do you remember when Samsung started rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S22 and Tab S8 lineups last week in South Korea? Well, we have great news for you who happen to own these 2022 phones and/or tablets in other markets. Samsung is now rolling out One UI 6.1.1 in more regions, starting with Europe.
The Galaxy S22 series is getting the One UI 6.1.1 update in Europe through a package that carries firmware version S90xBXXUBEXH7 and includes the September 2024 security patch.
Meanwhile, Samsung is also expanding the availability of One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup in Europe, where the update carries firmware version Xx06BXXU8CXHB. It, too, likely contains the latest security patch.
At the moment, the update is available only for the LTE Tab S8 versions, but the Wi-Fi-only models should get it soon (via Aptivi).
Improved Galaxy AI is expanding to 2022 flagships
One UI 6.1.1 is an incremental update that builds on the previous One UI 6.1 release. And like One UI 6.1, it focuses a lot on AI.
The official changelog mentions features like Sketch to Image, Portrait Studio, a better Samsung Keyboard composer, support for Live Translation for more apps, better translation tools in Samsung Internet, a Listening Mode for the Interpreter tool, and a whole lot more.
It's not entirely clear if everything mentioned in the changelog is available for the Galaxy S22 and Tab S8 lineups, as sometimes Samsung copy-pastes its changelogs for the same update across different device generations. However, seeing how this is mostly a Galaxy AI update, chances are that everything is there.
If you want to check for the update on your device, open the Settings app, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install.” You can also check our firmware section for the availability of the One UI 6.1.1 firmware files for your device and region if you prefer manual updates.
