Samsung is almost ready to launch the Galaxy Fit 3, more than three years after launching the Galaxy Fit 2. Last month, all the main features and design of the Galaxy Fit 3 were leaked due to a slip-up from Samsung. Now, even more features and specifications of the Galaxy Fit 3 have been revealed ahead of its official announcement.
Galaxy Fit 3 features and specifications leak
The folks over at TheTechOutlook have managed to get their hands on the staff training material pertaining to the Galaxy Fit 3, revealing all its features. The Galaxy Fit 3 has a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen with 256 x 402 pixels resolution and 302 ppi pixel density. It has an aluminum body and a 2.5D curved glass protection for the screen. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and 5ATM durability. The upcoming fitness tracker has a full touchscreen display and one side button.
It doesn't run Wear OS like the Galaxy Watch 4 (or newer) smartwatch from Samsung does. So, it isn't compatible with third-party apps and watch faces. It has 16MB of RAM and 256MB of internal storage. It is powered by a 208mAh battery and can last up to 13 days on a single charge. It features a wristband that can be easily detached with a one-click mechanism.
The Galaxy Fit 3 has Samsung Health, and it features 101 workout modes and can track six of those workouts automatically. It tracks the user's blood oxygen levels, daily activity, exercise, heart rate, steps, stress, and workouts. It can also track sleep duration and quality to offer a sleep score. Users can then try out Samsung's Sleep Coaching suggestions to improve sleep quality and overall wellness. This goes in line with Samsung's aim to improve sleep quality detection and improvement suggestions. All this data is synched with the Samsung Health app on a paired Android smartphone or tablet.
Other features on the Galaxy Fit 3 include Fall Detection and Emergency SOS. When a user falls during a workout, the Galaxy Fit 3 can detect it and ask if they need help with contacting emergency contacts. With the Emergency SOS feature, users can press the side button five times and select the SOS feature to contact family members and send them their location. But this feature will only work when there is a paired phone in the range. All the settings of the Galaxy Fit 3 are synced to the paired phone for easier backup and restore. The Galaxy Fit 3 can also be used as a remote shutter for the camera on a paired smartphone. It can also be used to control music playback and help find a misplaced phone. Modes can also be synced with the paired smartphone.
Compared to the Galaxy Fit 2, the upcoming fitness band from Samsung is 46% bigger and 10% thinner. It has a better screen, more workout tracking, a more rugged design, Fall Detection, Emergency SOS, Find My Device, and advanced sleep coaching.
