A patent application from Samsung reveals a new Galaxy AI feature that might be coming later this year, possibly with the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. This AI feature, as described by a KIPRIS application, would use artificial intelligence to analyze the user's search queries and offer personalized summaries for documents and articles based on the user's political views, interests, and more.
The patented system leverages usage history information gathered from the user by Galaxy devices, including preferences, knowledge levels, and political inclinations, to provide summaries (via @Tech_Reve, Chosun).
Samsung already offers AI-powered summary tools through the Galaxy AI suite for One UI 6.1 and select devices like the Galaxy S24 series. The existing feature can summarize Samsung Notes documents and Samsung Internet webpages.
The next level for the Galaxy AI summary tool
Unlike the existing summary tool, this new AI feature described in Samsung's patents at KIPRIS would summarize content based on the user's interests. Furthermore, users could instruct the AI on precisely how to summarize content.
For example, a Galaxy device user could ask the AI to summarize an article briefly and neutrally, or they could ask the AI to summarize it in more words using a negative undertone.
Whether or not this new AI tool will be announced in early July at Samsung's next Unpacked event is to be determined. Patent applications don't always result in real products or services, and this might be just an idea that will never be put into practice.
However, the Korean media citing industry sources says the new AI feature could debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6.
