It's been almost 2 years since the Galaxy Fit 2 was launched, and owners of the fitness band thought that Samsung is done supporting the device and that there wouldn't be any more updates. Much to everyone's surprise, Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Fit 2 that brings a bunch of features.
Previously, users of the Galaxy Fit 2 weren't able to control their mobile phone's camera using the band. However, that is changing now after the latest firmware update. This feature was first launched with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 series and since then, it has been a part of the Galaxy Watch series.
Do note that you need to have a Samsung Galaxy device running Android 7.0 or higher in order to use the camera control feature via your Galaxy Fit 2.
The update also adds an option to see a call rejection message on the main screen
But that's not all. Apart from the camera control feature, the Galaxy Fit 2 firmware also adds an option to see a call rejection message on the main screen. Moreover, a rope jump counting feature has also been added to the Galaxy Fit 2 fitness tracker.
The update arrives with firmware version R220XXU1AVB8. It weighs around 2.16MB in size. Notably, the update is currently live for users in India, but it is expected to be live in other countries as well. This is a surprise update for the Galaxy Fit 2, not only because it brings multiple features, but it has been almost a year since the last update was rolled out for the Galaxy Fit 2.
If you own the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 fitness tracker, then open the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone and check for the new update.
