New Galaxy S23 update brings September 2026 security patch

While Galaxy S23 users are eagerly waiting for the stable version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17), Samsung is rolling out a new software update for these phones that offers the September 2026 security patch. It fixes 90 security issues present in the previous firmware.

Samsung is rolling out the updates globally. The one for India is 562.06MB in size and carries firmware version S91xBXXSAFZI1 (via Kailash). You can check for the update’s availability and get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

As for the stable version of One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung has said that the brand will release it by October. That means people won’t have to wait for more than a month.

One UI 9.0 will be the last major update for the Galaxy S23 lineup. For your reference, Samsung launched these phones with One UI 5.1 (Android 13) and promised to offer four major OS updates.
