Thanks to certification from Thailand's regulatory body NBTC, we now know what the next Galaxy smartwatch will be called. Samsung is skipping the Galaxy Watch 2 moniker and going with Galaxy Watch 3, which makes sense as it would tell consumers that the new smartwatch is better than the Galaxy Watch Active 2. It also makes sense considering the fact that it has been two years since the first Galaxy Watch was launched.
Galaxy Watch 3 coming in 41mm and 45mm variants with physical bezel ring
In addition to the name, the certification has also revealed that Samsung's upcoming smartwatch will come in a 41mm variant. The other size will be 45mm, which was confirmed when the Galaxy Watch 3 was certified by the FCC a few days back. Of course, the biggest reveal about the watch was made right here on SamMobile. As we exclusively reported, the Galaxy Watch 3 will bring back what made Samsung smartwatches so great – a physical rotating bezel.
The Galaxy Watch 3 is currently expected to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Fold 2. Samsung also has new earbuds incoming, this time with a radical redesign and, hopefully, better audio quality than the Galaxy Buds+. Samsung is reportedly going to hold a launch event online on August 5, meaning there's around two months to go before we see the Galaxy Watch 3 in action.
