Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 after unveiling them last week. Some interesting insights have emerged from South Korea, where the new devices have received fewer pre-orders compared to their predecessors.
Another interesting trend that has been noted this year is that more young people are opting to buy the foldables, highlighting the success of Samsung's marketing initiatives as the company has tried to tap into this demographic for its foldables.

More young people are buying Samsung's foldables
Samsung accepted pre-orders until yesterday for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in South Korea. The company has now revealed that it received more than 910,000 pre-orders for the two devices. That's a noticeable decline compared to the record high 1.02 million pre-orders received for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 last year.
It's worth mentioning that last year's models were significant upgrades, particularly the Galaxy Z Flip 5 which finally brought a larger cover display, so unsurprisingly the models got more pre-orders. The upgrades aren't as significant this year but despite that, receiving 910,000 pre-orders is still an impressive achievement.
Samsung also pointed out that the percentage of pre-order customers in their 20s and 30s is now 50%, up from 43% last year. This rising popularity has been attributed to the improved portability of the new devices, being lighter and thinner than their predecessors.
While the Galaxy Z Flip models have historically sold in far greater numbers, the pre-order share has improved for the Z Fold as well. The pre-order ratio for Fold 6 and Flip 6 is split at 4:6, compared to 3:7 last year, highlighting the growing acceptability and confidence in Samsung's most expensive foldable phone.
Samsung is still taking pre-orders for the new foldables elsewhere and offering some great deals that you should definitely check out if you're looking to pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Z Flip 6.
