Samsung has launched three lifestyle TVs over the past few years: The Frame, The Sero, and The Terrace. LG has launched its own lifestyle TV lineup to compete with Samsung's premium TVs. Ahead of CES 2022, which will happen next month, LG unveiled those TVs on its website.
The LG Objet TV (Model 65Art90) competes with The Frame, and it features a customizable design. It sits flush against the wall and resembles a canvas. It even features a customizable fabric cover (available in Kvadrat Beige, Kvadrat Redwood, and Kvadrat Green colors), which appears to be inspired by The Frame's customizable bezels. The fabric cover can be raised or lowered using the remote controller.
It is a 65-inch OLED TV with 80W 4.2-channel speakers. When its fabric cover is raised, it can show time, date, audio player, or photos/paintings.
The StandbyME TV mimics Samsung's The Sero TV, which can switch between horizontal and vertical modes. However, it has a trick up its sleeve: it has a built-in battery that lasts up to 3 hours with video playback. The 27-inch LCD TV can be conveniently moved into any room because it doesn't need a power cable. When watching vertical videos you captured using your phone or consuming TikTok content, you can switch to the vertical mode. Like Samsung's Tap View, LG has implemented a mobile screen mirroring feature powered by NFC and Wi-Fi.
When not being actively used, both upcoming LG lifestyle TVs can display artworks, photos, or paintings. Both devices run LG's latest webOS version and can access all the popular audio and video streaming apps. They can also hide cables through built-in cable management.
