Samsung seems to have updated its Quick Share app for Windows. The newest app version brings an updated logo to the Windows platform. This is the same logo that Google and Samsung unveiled after they merged their own wireless file-sharing system for Android a few weeks ago.

New Quick Share logo appears for the Windows app

The new version of the Quick Share app is now available on the Microsoft Store (via johnmgbg) for computers running Windows 10 and Windows 11. You can now install it on your Galaxy Book laptop or any PC that features Intel's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi card. It brings a new logo for Quick Share, which Google and Samsung unveiled after they merged their Nearby Share and Quick Share file-sharing systems around the CES 2024 expo.

If you don't know already, Samsung's Quick Share was a proprietary feature to share files wirelessly. It was similar to Google's Nearby Share feature but worked faster and more flawlessly, and it was not compatible with Google's Nearby Share. Users used to be confused as to which file-sharing system to use, so Google and Samsung came together to merge their file-sharing systems into Quick Share. It will now work on all Android smartphones and tablets. It will also work on all Chrome OS-based computers and laptops.

Right now, there are two Quick Share apps for computers running Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. So, it is possible that both apps will get merged into a single app in the near future. It remains to be seen if Google or Samsung will maintain the merged Quick Share app.
