Android 10 isn't on the cards for the Galaxy S8 (and S8+), but Samsung is continuing to release regular security updates for its 2017 flagship. Less than a month back, Samsung rolled out the November 2019 security patch to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in various markets, and the company is now bumping the security patch version on the two phones to December with a new update that is rolling out in some countries.
The December security update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ comes with software G95*FXXS6DSL2 and is available in Germany, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland. The update only includes the latest security fixes, as expected. You can download it over the air on your S8 or S8+ by opening the phone's Settings app, selecting Software update, and tapping Download and install. Another way to update is to download the latest firmware from our firmware archive and install it on your phone using a Windows computer.
