Samsung is rolling out a fresh update for Samsung TV Plus, the widely used and free ad-supported streaming service. With the new update, Samsung adds new UI elements and new features that will not only elevate the user experience but also aim to make browsing and viewing content faster.
The new Samsung TV Plus version 5.2 update brings improved UI for all of its 2,500 channels across 24 countries where they are streamed. The new UI brings a redesigned home screen that shows the content available for viewing, along with popular titles and recently watched content. The Samsung TV Plus new home screen also gets new sections, such as Live TV, Movies/TV Shows, Music, Kids and Settings, and more, giving you access to content at any time.
The new update will be available to all Samsung Smart TVs released in 2019 or later
There are region-specific tabs such as the Music tab for the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, the Kids tab for the U.S., Europe, Brazil, Mexico, and India, and the News tab for India with multilingual support. The updated UI gets larger content elements for better navigation across the ever-expanding list of TV channels.
Apparently, the VOD (Video on Demand) section on the Samsung TV Plus is easily accessible as it is now available from the channel guide. Users can instantly play back VODs without waiting for a specific episode to go live. There is a ‘More Like This' section as well that gives you content suggestions based on your viewing history.
In the official blog, Yonghoon Choi, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “Over the past year, we have witnessed a 60% increase in global viewing time on Samsung TV Plus — a testament to the platform’s expansive content library and user-friendly design.“
