Samsung released the October 2021 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US earlier this month. The company has now started rolling out the update to the international version of its most affordable foldable smartphone.
The latest update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with firmware version F711BXXU2AUJ7. With this update, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 can capture Portrait images of pets (cats and dogs). Samsung says that the Portrait mode works with both front and rear cameras of the smartphone, although some Portrait effects can only be applied after an image is captured.
As mentioned earlier, it also includes the October 2021 security patch that fixes more than 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
You can check whether your Galaxy Z Flip 3 has received the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows computer.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in August alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The smartphone will get three major Android OS updates and monthly security updates. The South Korean firm could launch more color variants of the Z Flip 3 later today.
