Samsung has made several major and minor improvements with each new version of One UI, and the company has done the same with One UI 6.1.1. This new version of One UI, which debuted in July with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6, has made a minor UI improvement that makes copying and moving files easier.

One UI 6.1.1 brings new UI for copying and moving files in stock file manager app

With the One UI 6.1.1 update, Samsung has introduced a new UI element in the My Files app. It appears when copying or moving files from one location to another. As you can see in the video below, when you select a file and copy and paste it or move it to another location on the phone's internal or external storage, a pop-up window hovers at the bottom of the screen, displaying folders available on the internal or cloud storage locations.

This pop-up window has tabs at the top to make accessing internal, expandable, or cloud storage locations easier. In our video above, you can see that the file copying/moving pop-up window displays Google Drive, Internal Storage, and OneDrive locations. Once the file transfer operation is completed, a pop-up message near the bottom of the screen allows you to quickly jump to the folder where you copied or moved the file.

Right now, this new UI has only appeared on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 since those are the only Galaxy devices running One UI 6.1.1. Eventually, this improvement will be released to other Galaxy smartphones and tablets once they get the One UI 6.1.1 update.
