Samsung introduced several AI features with the Galaxy S24 and One UI 6.1, which were released to older devices like the Galaxy S22. Samsung reportedly plans to bring more Galaxy AI features with One UI 6.1.1 and Galaxy Z Flip 6/Fold 6. However, design changes and improvements will come with One UI 7.0.
One UI 6.1.1 features Galaxy AI improvements, while One UI 7.0 will have design changes
Samsung hinted a few days ago that it would expand the Galaxy AI feature set in the future. Reliable tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has now claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come with some new AI features. One of those features is reportedly interesting, but the tipster didn't reveal what it is. It is widely understood that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will run One UI 6.1.1 out of the box.
If you expected design changes with One UI 6.1.1, you have to wait a bit longer. Ice Universe also claimed in a separate post on X that One UI 7.0 would have “greatly improved” User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). This upcoming software will likely be released in the last quarter of this year. These features could be released to existing devices that are eligible to run One UI 7.0, like the Galax Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
You can watch our review of Galaxy AI features in the video below. The story continues after the video.
The One UI 7.0 development is happening internally, and the software will likely be released in beta to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, and other high-end phones. After a few weeks of testing, the stable One UI 7.0 update, based on Android 15, will likely be released to Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series devices.
It is rumored that One UI 7.0 will allow you to scroll through the app drawer vertically. Currently, One UI only supports horizontal pagination for apps in the app drawer. We can expect more design changes with One UI 7.0; more information about those features could be revealed later this quarter.
