Samsung announces One UI 6.1.1 update for its phones and tablets

Earlier today, Samsung released the One UI 6.1.1 update to the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea. Now, the company has announced the list of devices that will get the One UI 6.1.1 update and the release dates for the new software.

As expected, the update will be mostly released to high-end Galaxy devices in the Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab S, and Galaxy Z series.

List of Galaxy devices that will get One UI 6.1.1 update

Samsung announced that it will release the One UI 6.1.1 update to the following phones and tablets:

  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy S23+
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S24+
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S9
  • Galaxy Tab S9+
  • Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5

Samsung said the Galaxy S24 will get the One UI 6.1.1 update in Korea today (September 5). The update will be released on September 9 in Europe and North America. Other Galaxy devices will get the update in the coming weeks.

One UI 6.1.1 features

The update brings several new Galaxy AI features related to communication, creativity, and productivity. Some of the new features include Interpreter's new Listening Mode, which allows you to listen to a person in the language you prefer, which is great for listening to a class or presentation.

You can easily draft emails and social media posts with matching language and styling using Chat Assist's Composer mode. You can type a few words about what you want to say, and the Composer will create complete sentences for you. Suggested Replies, which use a chat thread's context to offer suggested replies, is coming to the Galaxy S24 series. It was originally launched with the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

With Sketch to Image, you can draw a rough drawing to convert that into a professional image using AI. Circle to Search is getting the ability to solve complex mathematics problems and music recognition.

The improved Note Assist feature offers translation and note summaries. You can record your voice while taking notes and instantly convert voice to text for additional context. This feature is available in Samsung Notes. Moreover, you can convert text inside PDF files directly without converting those PDF files into regular notes. Text in PDF files (including charts and images) will be converted to the language you prefer.

With Portrait Studio, you can convert your photos into animation or watercolor-style images. The Instant Slow Mo feature gets performance improvements with the One UI 6.1.1 update. With the new update, Samsung phones also get the Samsung Scalable Codec SSC UHQ wireless audio codec.
